It’s here…..Finally it’s summertime! School’s out & the warm weather is in, let the sunny & carefree days and the late nights begin….
This season Juliette Sunshine was re-vamped & we worked on some fun new collections for older girls in sizes 5-12. There’s been so many changes since we moved up to Northern California from Los Angeles, added a new kid to our family & started a whole new life, but I’m so happy to be focusing on the collection again.
I’m excited about the new Juliette Sunshine and lately always bursting with new ideas, new concepts, new plans…. there’s so much to do, so much to create, but only so many hours in each day to actually do it! …..so just trying to embrace the work, taking things step by step and just doing as much as can be done right now…..
Juliette Sunshine Summer 2015 was inspired by tropical vacations, pool parties, garden flowers, retro Palm Springs & Mod Pop stars….Here is some of what inspired the new collections:
Tropical Vacations & Tropical Gardens:
Retro Palm Springs:
Mod Pop & Rainbow Colors:
And here are some favorites from the new collections:
Just got back from a fun filled family trip to Palm Springs. I love this place so much that one of the new Juliette Sunshine Spring/Summer ’15 collections drew inspiration from the bright colors, retro vibe and tropical heat of the Palm Springs desert. I’m finally getting ready to debut the new collection & new website I’ve been working on the past few months.
Here is a sneak peak from the new collection & some photos from our trip for inspiration. We will now be offering hand crafted & limited edition dresses, t-shirts & skirts in Girls sizes 6-12.
Now that my little boy is 2 (!) and my little girl has already turned 7, I’ve really been wanting to amp up my work schedule & just really get into it all full force again….the designing, the research, the fabrics, the marketing…I love everything about creating new collections & I’m so ready for a re-vamp of the Juliette Sunshine line !
I always had the idea that the clothing line would grow with my daughter and now that she’s officially entered the Big Kid phase, I’m planning on adding a whole new size range. So stay tuned for Juliette Sunshine for Tweens!
In the meantime I’m just getting inspired for what’s next……
Enchanted Forest Fairytale
The fall 2014 & resort 2015 RTW collections were so inspiring. I’m loving this sort of dreamy Enchanted Forest Fairytale theme running through some of my favorite designer’s collections. You can also see what inspired me here on the Rock Paper Sequins blog.
Even though it’s summer, the new fall season is right around the corner & I’m now producing & getting ready to ship the new collection….This season was inspired by:
Vintage paper dolls
Japanese school girls
For the fall ’11 season, we mixed bamboo jersey, organic cotton, leftover designer fabrics & whimsical screen prints to create the latest styles….
Here is a sneak peek! The full collection will be available by the beginning of August
…..while wearing the cutest Eco-clothing made in the USA
I’ll be wearing Juliette Sunshine each and every day…..

(The first Juliette Sunshine sample I made for my daughter!)
...From our initial sales launch in August of 2009, to the first spring shipment in January of 2010, we are so excited to have now designed, produced & shipped two seasons of Juliette Sunshine’s “Eco-friendly & Made in USA Clothing for Girls” to over 45 amazing stores nationwide!! The fall line has gotten a great response and we’ve already added several new stores for Spring 2011.
For a very small start up company, It’s been a great beginning and I definitely feel like I’ve taken a crash course in business along the way…..
-I really started on a whim…..just making cute little dresses and tops from vintage garments & recycled pieces of fabric…. for my then 2 year old daughter to wear. After so many years working 50-60 hours a week designing into the latest trends for big, fast-paced fashion companies; it was a refreshing change & I really fell in love with the idea of producing special items that were made locally from earth friendly & recycled materials. I had so much fun doing it that I started to think about starting my own Eco-friendly fashion company. With a desperate desire to spend more time with my daughter & lots of help & encouragement from my husband, I just decided one day that even if I had no idea how I was going to do it, I just had to do it…..
So with that in mind……
We are very excited to enter our 3rd season: Spring 2011 at Juliette Sunshine!
This month we are excited to debut:
A fabulous new Look Book! -(Thanks to my fab friend Lana for her amazing expertise putting it together and Jessika, Jordan & Matthew for an equally amazing photo shoot!)
A fun new collection for Spring ’11 with more styles & more colors than ever before…
The launch of our new sustainable basics collection: “Eco-Candy by Juliette Sunshine”
(recent write-up in Earnshaw’s magazine)
And….a new online store: “Juliette Sunshine’s Style Shop”– ( a style lab for new ideas & exclusive “one of a kind” limited edition pieces made from recycled materials)- Coming Soon!
Thanks to everyone who helped to make this happen! (You know who you are)…..it’s been a fun ride!
> The new fall 2010 collection was inspired by: Pop Art, Patchwork, 90’s Grunge, 60’s Flower Power & British Tea Parties…. It’s a fun eclectic mix of girly brights, Tom boy plaids , stripes , florals & original screen prints. West coast retailers can see the collection next week June 14th-18th- @ Clothing the Boom at the California Market Center- Hope to see you there!!
