Happy Friday! The kids and I have been enjoying this summer so much so far! Between the beach, pools, sprinklers, outdoor concerts & gorgeous public parks, there’s tons of things to do & see here in the city.
When my daughter and I happen to have a rare free day together that’s just the two of us, we like to do a “girls day” by going out to brunch in Brooklyn, heading to Soho for mother daughter shopping or stopping by the park to enjoy some time in nature.
Here are some pics of our latest adventures & what we wore……Happy Summer!
A MOTHER DAUGHTER BRUNCH DAY
Right now we are loving cool & comfortable summer dresses in bright colors & fun floral prints…
Taking silly pictures & discovering Sunflowers actually grow in Brooklyn!
…..and hanging by the lake in Prospect Park!
DAUGHTER STYLE: custom made dress/ Juliette Sunshine
MOTHER STYLE: off the shoulder dress/ Zara jewelry/ Marisa Mason sunglasses/ Prada
#1) Flip Flops: One of my favorite places to be on Earth is the beach! I just love the sun, the sand, the ocean….While just about any beach will do for me, what’s so fun is just getting to wear something cool & casual and when the weather gets hot, I love to put on cute flip flops. Here are my current matching favorites for Mama & Mini’s
#2) Sundresses: When the sun is out and the heat is strong, the best thing to wear is a great sundress! Here are some of my current favorites for a chic summer look:
Emil dress by MISA / Capri dress by PAMPELONE / Off the shoulder dress by TESSORA
All girls dresses by Zara
#3) Ice Cream: If someone asks me what my favorite food is, the first thing that comes to mind is ice cream! What is your favorite flavor?
this is one of the best ice cream places I have been to in NYC : Morgenstern’s
#4) Outdoor Parks: With or without kids, its so fun to spend time in public parks, especially in summer. NYC has some of the best parks & one of my current favorites is by Dumbo in Brooklyn
#5) New Sunglasses: Look out for the perfect shades for the summer! Here are some of my current favorites for YOU:
Women’s sunglasses by Prada / Women’s sunglasses by Coco & Breezy
and for your MINI’S:
Girls sunglasses by Ray-Ban Junior
It’s here…..Finally it’s summertime! School’s out & the warm weather is in, let the sunny & carefree days and the late nights begin….
This season Juliette Sunshine was re-vamped & we worked on some fun new collections for older girls in sizes 5-12. There’s been so many changes since we moved up to Northern California from Los Angeles, added a new kid to our family & started a whole new life, but I’m so happy to be focusing on the collection again.
I’m excited about the new Juliette Sunshine and lately always bursting with new ideas, new concepts, new plans…. there’s so much to do, so much to create, but only so many hours in each day to actually do it! …..so just trying to embrace the work, taking things step by step and just doing as much as can be done right now…..
Juliette Sunshine Summer 2015 was inspired by tropical vacations, pool parties, garden flowers, retro Palm Springs & Mod Pop stars….Here is some of what inspired the new collections:

Happy Summer! I’m excited for our new addition: The “Rainbow Unicorn” dress is here. I’ve been working a lot with hand applique and loving how it looks on dresses & tees….
We are starting to get excited for summer & have had our first few days of warmth and sunshine in the San Francisco Bay Area. I thought it would be fun to showcase some of the new styles with city scenes from our local neighborhood as the backdrop. We had a lot of fun shooting photos this weekend by Lake Merritt here in Oakland, CA.
The “Rainbow Unicorn” dress is custom made from Eco-friendly bamboo/spandex jersey & 100% cotton & is now available on our Online Boutique & on Etsy

Just got back from a fun filled family trip to Palm Springs. I love this place so much that one of the new Juliette Sunshine Spring/Summer ’15 collections drew inspiration from the bright colors, retro vibe and tropical heat of the Palm Springs desert. I’m finally getting ready to debut the new collection & new website I’ve been working on the past few months.
Here is a sneak peak from the new collection & some photos from our trip for inspiration. We will now be offering hand crafted & limited edition dresses, t-shirts & skirts in Girls sizes 6-12.

It’s been soooo long since my last post! Where did all the time go? Things have been so different since moving from LA and so much has changed. After two solid years focusing every ounce of my efforts and every “spare” moment of my time designing, producing, marketing, selling & shipping my “Juliette Sunshine-Eco-friendly clothing for girls” collection; I decided to pull the plug and put everything on hold for a while. After moving to a new city and with so many changes in our lives, it really seemed like I needed to be fully present for my daughter & to focus on family for a while. The whole reason I had started the line in the first place was so I could work at home, be my own boss and spend more time with my daughter….
What I learned is that designing what you want to is very satisfying and building a company from scratch can be very empowering, but there is really no escape from the long hours and hard work that comes with being a head designer at a company, whether it’s for your own tiny business or a huge corporate company. At the end of the day, you are still a working Mom juggling two worlds & trying to make time for everything. But the truth is sometimes you just have to live it. You gotta do what you want to do when you have the chance to do it and just see how it flows, see how it goes….life is short, after all.
And in between all of this, I’ve been busy with someone new in our world- Kaiya’s little brother Kingston. He is such a cute little guy & it really has been amazing to have this time to build our family. But…… all this kid time has made me realize just how much I miss WORKING & I miss FASHION….so I started a new style inspiration blog for women called Rock Paper Sequins. I also thought it would be fun to relaunch the Juliette Sunshine blog and have it be the “girl version” of Rock Paper Sequins, focusing on style, trends & curated fashion inspiration for girls……
So here’s my first style post for 2014…..a few things I’m loving right now:
The Little Bohemian
Dress: Pink Chicken, Headband: Gap Kids, Sunglasses: Selima Optique for Crewcuts, Romper: Mara Hoffman, Sandals: J. Crew, Nail Polish : Piggy Paint, Guitar: Chasing Fireflies
