First Fall in the City

It’s been so exciting to be back on the East coast & the kids are really enjoying their first real fall experience since moving to NYC from California. We’re loving all the pretty leaves and beautiful colors and getting super excited for Halloween! Speaking of Halloween, I was surprised by all the beautiful front stoop decorations in Brooklyn and all the cool decorated pumpkins, ghosts and skeleton decorations everywhere. Seems like you don’t need to be in the suburbs to get the full Halloween experience and there’s been a ton of amazing events going on here in the city for kids and adults alike. On a side note: also loving all the colorful street art everywhere (perfect for inspiring Instagram photos….)

Here’s some of my fave seasonal photos we posted on Instagram lately.

Hope you have an amazing Halloween & fall season.

getting ready for halloween

We are very excited for Halloween on Monday! This year Kaiya’s decided to be a butterfly fairy and has already had a chance to wear her costume to several fun events.

We are also having fun making simple handmade paper crowns….

If we had more time I would love to try some of these great craft ideas…

I always seem to wait till the very last minute to decide on a costume and this year was feeling rather lazy about it but have decided to throw together a last minute cat woman costume. Here’s some of my inspiration……

Pumpkins & Plaid

I love this time of year…but since I’m from the East coast, I find it’s strangely surreal in Los Angeles right now & it’s almost Halloween!  Fall is here but sometimes it’s still anywhere between 70- 90 degrees. Like the day we went to the pumpkin patch….to pick out a pumpkin & take a pony ride……Here’s Kaiya wearing her “Mad for Plaid Top” with “Indie Ruffle Skirt”(one of her favorites) & a perfect outfit for a “fall” day at the Pumpkin patch in LA!
