Like Mother Like Daughter

This summer has gone by SO fast & I’ve been crazy busy with the kids since school’s been out. Now that it’s all finally come to an end, I’m thinking about back to school clothes and what my daughter will want to wear this fall.

The funny thing is that lately she been wanting to dress just like me! I never imagined this happening as I was such a rebel child and always wanting to be the exact opposite of my Mom & everyone else. But my daughter, now at 7 years old will sometimes study my outfits in the morning and then run to her room to find something similar, either in color or silhouette. And so far…most of the new fall clothes she has chosen are like mini versions of the things I’ve always worn. Lately we’re both liking a sort of ‘dressed up dolly rocker’ look.

Here’s some inspiration in case you want to match your fall looks with your daughter’s…..or vice versa…..

getting ready for halloween

We are very excited for Halloween on Monday! This year Kaiya’s decided to be a butterfly fairy and has already had a chance to wear her costume to several fun events.

We are also having fun making simple handmade paper crowns….

If we had more time I would love to try some of these great craft ideas…

I always seem to wait till the very last minute to decide on a costume and this year was feeling rather lazy about it but have decided to throw together a last minute cat woman costume. Here’s some of my inspiration……

Dress up

Today was such a fun day, Kaiya’s School was closed, so after a few
emails & phone calls, we had lots of fun just the two of us, playing
dress up, having a tea party and pushing each other on the swings at
the playground. It was a beautiful sunny California day. I love my
little girl so much!

Here she is striking a pose in the “Dropwaist Butterfly Tunic” from
the Juliette Sunshine spring collection
